Papa’s Shoes is an engaging and well-written novel loosely based on the true story of the author’s grandparents, Isidore, a shoemaker and his wife Mrytle Tasky, who left a tiny shtetl in Poland in the early 1900s to come to America in pursuit of a better life for their family...

It is a deeply layered story of love, betrayal, grief, cultural and generational conflict both within families and with the outside world.

One of my favorite mysteries of all time. Well written and tautly paced, The Dead Guy is impossible to put down. As his lifeblood ticks away, Jack Thigpen tries to track down his best friend's killer. The Dead Guy is funny, wise, and suspenseful.

Marshall Frank has written many good books but Upside takes the cake. From page one to the end I was absorbed by the story...when not reading it I was thinking about it. Few books can do that to me. The characters are real and unforgettable. The story is believable and the pace FAST, yet loaded with quality descriptions of places and emotions. Two thumbs up and five stars down. Read this book.

This is a very good read. The plot moves at a good pace and keeps you on your toes trying to fathom the ending. It is hard to believe that this is a first novel. I am anxiously awaiting the next book by this author as I am sure a talent of the caliber will have a lengthy history of novels. Thanks for an engrossing read.
